Content: The NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health is an examined basic qualification designed to help non-specialists to carry out more effectively their organisational duties or functions with respect to workplace health and safety. Such people include managers, supervisors, employee representatives and employees in general.

Compex 5 Day (Hazardous Environments Training EX01 – EXO4)
Content: Forth Valley College is the only centre in the UK to offer the entire Comp’EX’ units for operation in hazardous environments.
This nationally recognised course provides competence based training and assessment for electrical and instrumentation technicians working in hazardous areas in offshore and onshore industrial environments. The facilities are unique and custom built to include a realistic working plant and a simulated hazardous area. ‘Ex’ Training provides Electrical Installation Engineering Industry Organisation (EIEITO) Nationally Approved Competence Based Training.

Content: It is highly recommended that employees who have previously attended the Hazardous Environments 5 day training course should consider updating their knowledge within 3-5 years. The Compex 2 day refresher course is designed for staff who require a refresher and update in new standards and who may have previously attended Hazardous Area Training. Any previous training will have covered the 1st edition of the EN50-0 series – BS5501 for apparatus construction, the Codes of Practice to BS5345 and IEC 79-17 in content.

Content: The course provides a thorough training in the use of 16th Edition Regulations and certification for BS7671 and City & Guilds 2381, which is the minimum level of certification for registering with the Scottish Joint Industry Board (SJIB). It will update electricians and design persons to the requirements of the latest IEE Regulations.

Content: This is a two-day course to meet with the requirements of City and Guilds 2377. This course will provide knowledge of legislation relating to Portable Appliance Testing.

City and Guilds Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations
Content: This course is relevant to electrical contractors, self-employed electricians, maintenance electricians, inspectors and testers and any qualified person who is responsible for electrical installations that must comply with BS7671 and Electricity at Work Regulations. This course provides a thorough training in the skills and knowledge required to use and to apply standard electrical formulae and to implement BS7671. This will include the use of correct instruments, methods of inspection and sequence of testing.

Content: The REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene course will be of benefit to new entrants to the workplace, in both industry and commerce. It will also encourage candidates to pursue further training, which is available to the intermediate certificate level, of this nationally recognised qualification

REHIS Intermediate Food Hygiene
Content: The course is designed for candidates who already have a good basic knowledge and understanding of food and hygiene and who already possess an Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate. This course provides a more in depth knowledge and understanding of food hygiene. It is most useful for people who are in a supervisory hospitality or retail position and encourages progression to the Diploma in Food Hygiene.
