Queen cuts ribbon on 'greenest campus in UK'
THE Queen was today officially opening a new university campus which claims to be the greenest in the UK.
The Queen Margaret University campus, just outside Musselburgh, has been operating for almost a year but will get its official unveiling today.
The university says the awardwinning campus is the most environmentally friendly in the country. The Queen was being shown round the building before unveiling a plaque in the foyer and meeting staff and students.
The university’s principal and vice chancellor Professor Anthony Cohen said: "Today will be remembered with pride by the entire university community.
"Craighall provides firstrate, purposebuilt facilities – including those for learning and teaching, research, clinics, conferences, sport and leisure – to staff and students, and to the people of East Lothian and Edinburgh."
