SOFTWARE and IT firm Castle has reported record sales of £5.3 million as it celebrates 25 years in the business. The Edinburghheadquartered company, which was founded in 1983 and also has offices in Bellshill and Aberdeen, saw turnover grow by £100,000 in 2007 as it battled against "extremely competitive" market conditions – boosted by strong growth in its VMware virtualisation software.

Managing director Alan Quinn said: "Market conditions have been tough in recent years and it is a credit to the quality and commitment of our staff that we are continuing to grow the business when many competitors are standing still."
