£5m grants bring 700 Scots jobs
More than 700 jobs are to be created or safeguarded in the latest round of Scottish Government industrial development grants.
Twentytwo firms have accepted grants amounting to more than £5m.
They include a £250,000 grant to an Ayrshirebased firm, Proven Energy, to create 29 new jobs making and installing wind turbines.
The company, based in Stewarton, makes smallscale wind turbines for home and commercial use.
Enterprise minister Jim Mather said: "This is exactly the kind of investment project that will help this government move towards its aim of increased, sustainable economic growth."
The grants are the latest quarterly round in the regional selective assistance scheme.
The biggest grant made this quarter was £1.34m to a Glasgow company, ClinTec International Ltd, which aims to create 239 jobs in contract clinical research services.
